Blood and Err
Blood and Err, a parody of the German phrase "blut und ehre" follows the lives of different characters throughout the European theater of WWII; everything from axis to allies, resistance to civilian life. The focus of the project is to challenge the idea of 'good and bad' being a matter of nationality, rather, the individual choices each person makes in any given situation.This project is intended to be an anthology of smaller graphic novels that focus on each character in the story, some of which intersect others on the timeline. Currently a work in progress, the characters and stories have been the product of a lifelong passion for the genre. As I've matured in my handling of the topic and understanding of the culture and history of each character, their stories have evolved. My hope is to produce something that evokes emotion, thought, and new perspectives on how we perceive one another in this ever contentious world…. and also ship my dumb OCs along the way.
AWOL Island Policies
AWOL Island was created as a means of gathering like-minded creatives to inspire and motivate one another. We create an engaging environment through events, activities, and our "give one, get one" policy on posting art and feedback. Historical fiction creators are safe to grow in their understanding of history and culture as we encourage patience, education, and support.
While our policies permit the depiction of darker factions/aspects of the wars within the historic context of our work, we in no way promote, glorify, fetishize or condone facism, genocide, bigotry, war crimes, or violence.
